Control over the quality of our death is one of the most important ethical issues of our time. This group, representing MPs and Peers from across the political spectrum, promotes greater patient choice at the end of life. Our aim is to help ensure that dying adults have more control over where, when and how they die. In line with public opinion, the group advocates universal access to patient centred end-of-life care; the right for mentally competent adults to refuse treatment; and the choice of an assisted death, within legal safeguards, for dying adults. The Draft Bill
In partnership with Dignity in Dying, the APPG on Choice at the End of Life carried out a consultation on a draft Bill to change the law so that terminally ill, mentally competent adults can have the choice of an assisted death, subject to strict upfront safeguards. Read the draft Bill here.
